Hank Greenberg Medal

Greenberg was the first Jewish superstar in American professional sports and one of the greatest sluggers in baseball history. He attracted national attention in 1934 when he refused to play baseball on Yom Kippur, the Jewish day of atonement. When the Jewish-American Hall of Fame chose to honor the 100th anniversary of Hank Greenburg's birth, they chose to reissue a 20 year old medal originally struck by Medallic Art Company.
